Free iPad iPhone iPod Touch Jailbreak Support > Can I remove the preloaded (bloatware) apps on my iPod touch 4G now that it is jailbroken?

I couldn't find a specific answer for this before I decided to jailbreak my device because I assumed I could just figure it out on my own once I completed the jailbreak. Unfortunately, I have not been able to figure it out and I'm wondering if it is even possible to begin with. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

short answer is no: you're still stuck with the default apps. Like Internet explorer on windows, there's no easy way to just remove something you don't want. There are, however, cydia tweaks like NoNewsIsGoodNews that will hide certain apps from appearing on the springboard (the newsstand, in this case).

Personally, I just use FolderEnhancer and bury all my unwanted apps in a "junk" subfolder.

Turns out there is also a tweak called "poof" in cydia's bigboss repo. With it you can hide any app icons you don't intend to use. Ironically, it creates its own icon on the springboard instead of adding options to settings.app like most cydia tweaks.
