Free iPad iPhone iPod Touch Jailbreak Support > Is 3rd Generation iPad and iPad 3 the same thing?

I was following the jailbreak instructions but got stuck on the iPad identification step. According to the choose your iPad step I have an iPad 2 (front and rear cameras with no dictation option under settings). If I enter my model number (MC706) on the everymac.com ultimate iLookup tool it say's it's a 3rd generation iPad, so does that mean it's an iPad 3?

yep, MC706ll is a 64gb ipad 3. You may be missing the dictation option due to outdated firmware, I'm not sure. I'd recommend updating your firmware in itunes before completing the jailbreak to get the best experience.

Cheers Terry, that's reassuring to know. The firmware is up to date so not sure what's going on there. Still, I managed to complete the jailbreak successfully so mission accomplished. Thank you.
