Free iPad iPhone iPod Touch Jailbreak Support > Ipod touch 2G jailbreak won't work

I tried downloading the redsn0w 0.9.6rc18 for my Ipod touch 2G and when I try to open the file, it tries to make me select a program to open the file with out of a list. That's for Firefox. For Internet Explorer, I click "Open" and nothing happens. If I try to save the file in Firefox, it says My Documents\Downloads\redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc18.zip.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read. Try again later, or contact the server administrator. In Internet Explorer, it says Internet Explorer can not download "file name" from www.guidemyjailbreak.com. An internal error occured in Microsoft Internet Extensions or something of the sort. Can anybody help?

The error you're describing means the file isn't downloading properly. I just tested the download myself and it worked just fine. Here is a direct link. Try right-clicking and choosing "save target as" or "save link as" (depending on your browser):

You'll know it succeeded if the file is a zip file and NOT a zip.part file (part means it's still in the process of downloading). Make sure you give plenty of time for the file to download completely. If you're still having trouble, here's an alternate source:
