Just want to know how or if I can jailbreak iPad 1 with iOS 6.1.

sorry, not sure why Luke's guide doesn't point to instructions. The newest untethered jailbreak is fully compatible with all devices that can run iOS 6. See the guide below:

a follow-up: I don't think the ipad 1 can install iOS 6, so you may have a newer ipad version than you think you do. Regardless, the guide above will walk you through the process, assuming you're SURE you're using iOS 6.1
