Free iPad iPhone iPod Touch Jailbreak Support > Can you still upgrade your phone to the new software after jailbreaking?

I have the iPhone 4 and just had jailbreaked it. I have the 6.0.1 software and there is an update available. Am I allowed to do it? Will anything happen to my phone or the jailbreak? Also, should I not plug my phone into my computer and connect it to iTunes? I heard it wasn't good to do

You're welcome to use itunes as normal regardless of whether you have a jailbreak. As far as upgrading:

when you upgrade, all of your information will be fine, except that you will lose your jailbreak, as well as all cydia apps and tweaks. Your steps will be:

1) do a backup just in case
2) upgrade your device in itunes
3) jailbreak
4) reinstall your cydia apps/tweaks

You can get around having to individually reinstall all of your cydia apps after re-jailbreaking by using a cydia app like pkgbackup.
