Free iPad iPhone iPod Touch Jailbreak Support > Can't restore or update my Iphone 3Gs

I have a jailbroken IPhone 3Gs and I do not want it anymore. I am currently running 4.3.5 and trying to upgrade to 5.0.1. I have tried both restoring and updating my phone however I get the error message "This phone cannot be restored, the device isn't eligible for requested build." I have no idea what to do, help please!

Please try restoring with that, and let us know what happens.

Won't this restore my phone to the settings on this computer, and potentially lose all of my information?

After you restore your device on the other computer, you can restore from backup on the original computer. If you backup the device you shouldn't lose any data.
