Free iPad iPhone iPod Touch Jailbreak Support > managing music without itunes?
another random question there's probably no answer for: how does icloud backup work with a jailbroken iphone? Say I do an icloud backup, then reset my phone in itunes, then restore from the icloud copy. Will I end up with an unjailbroken phone with all of the apple-approved stuff restored as I had it? I'm just curious if people have experimented with this.

Guess these questions were a little beyond the scope of the site here. Thanks anyway.

I would subscribe to iTunes match. That way you can get your music sync'd through the cloud, without iTunes.
Let us know if that helps.

To answer your second question, if you do an iCloud backup and restore + use your iCloud backup, your phone will be unjailbroken and all of your apple apps, music, files, etc. will be restored. No need to worry about anything getting mucked up! (I have done this myself)

"iTunes Match requires an annual subscription of $24.99 a year"
no thanks, good idea though.

Do you guys know of a way to do what I'm trying to do? I don't care if I use the default music iphone app or another one, I just want to move music from my pc to my iphone and then listen to it, without opening itunes. I have IphoneBrowser for adding files to the iphone without itunes, but that won't actually add anything to the music app's library (I think itunes randomly names mp3s, then labels them in a separate database file to be recognized by the music app). I can handle any combination of cydia, PC apps, or even downloadable ipa or deb files.
