Free iPad iPhone iPod Touch Jailbreak Support > Error Updating or Restoring

I have Firmware version 4.3.5. I jailbroke my phone about a month ago. I tried restoring it last week and to no avail. I got an error stating that "My Device is not eligible for the requested build". I just didnt bother messing with it until the 5.0 update. Now that the 5.0 update is out, it still gives me the same error.

I tried changing information in the host file as indicated in other sources and I tried restoring to my original firmware. What else can I do to fix the issue. After using TinyUmbrella and trying to restore back it has left my phone unusable with the iTunes logo and USB port.

I'm willing to completely wipe my phone and start fresh as I recently backed up.

open tinyumbrella and uncheck "request shsh from cydia" and "set hosts to cydia on exit" then close tinyumbrella, now put the phone into DFU and open itunes and hit restore.

Could you go a little more in-depth on how to restore using tinyumbrella please?

What firmware are you on right now? Did you ever update to iOS5? Do you want to update to iOS5?
