iPhone 3GS was previously jailbroken but now restored to ios5

stuck in activation screen... can I use jailbreak from there on?

Go ahead and jailbreak and that should activate your phone.

Tried it now and it starts the jailbreak but after a short while goes back to iPhone activation screen. Guess I need to find a way to activate it first

I think I've got the right SIM card in it, it's an old one though. But I keep getting the error that activation server is unavailable
