Free iPad iPhone iPod Touch Jailbreak Support > I tried to restore to the same firmware 4.2.10 and got unknown error (1) & now the phone is stuck in recovery mode. help please..

I cannot get my phone out of recovery mode after I tried restoring to the same firmware on my jailbroken phone and got an error. The error was Cannot be restored unknown error (1). Can anyone help?

you cannot restore to 4.2.10 because it is no longer being signed by apple, the only way you can is if you have saved shsh blobs in the past using tinyumbrella or if you were jailbroken previously then Cydia may have your shsh, if none of that applies to you then you can only restore to ios5.

So even If i never had ios5 i can restore it to that if i dl the 5.0 firmware? How do I go about doing it like that?

ios5 is being signed right now so all you have to do is hook up to itunes and hit the restore button to go to ios5
