Free iPad iPhone iPod Touch Jailbreak Support > dialogue box asking for .ipsw files

I followed the tutorial video, but stalled on the firmware part. The REDSNOW dialogue box is askingme for the.ipsw file. There's no .ipsw file in that file I have downloaded. There's a folder saying FIRMWARE but there's no .ipsw file in it. Im using Windows. Wht did I miss?

What firmware and device are you using?

4.2.1 iphone 3G
I think there's something wrong with how windows 7 opened the supposedly .ipsw file. I downloaded this:

iPhone1,2_4.2.1_8C148_Restore

then extracted it into my desktop (cause its in .zip)

then it gave me

a folder saying FIRMWARE
3 .dmg files
1 kernelcache n82 file
and 2 'Quicktime preference' file.

in the FIRMWARE folder, there are 2 subfolders - (1) all_flash, (2) dfu

--------------

Now, on the redsnow, I clicked the application program, a window pops and asks for the .ipsw right?

I dont see any .ipsw file int the folder I just extracted. i've watched a lot of videos, I just don't get why this FIRMWARE folder doesnt get extracted as the .ipsw file or convert to one. Any suggestions?

ANd I've also asked a friend of mine whose got an iphone, he's using a mac though. we went through the steps again while he was ont the phone. He said that .ipsw download should be it. and not a folder. Well, its a folder here on my desktop and not an.ipsw file.

Help please, It
is greatly appreciated.

Ah, I know. Are you using internet explorer?

If so, download this and try again with google chrome: http://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/
